Fabiana Traini, originally from Italy, began her academic career with a BA in Italian literature and linguistics and then she pursued a MA (double degree) Italian/French in History and Civilisation of Europe at University of Pisa and EPHE (école pratique des hates études) in Paris. At the same time, after her first experiences as a language teacher, she developed a strong interest in the study of languages and she decided to explore better the language acquisition process. Therefore, she pursued a MA in Language teaching at University for Foreigners of Perugia where she fell in love with the study of Psycholinguistic and Neurolinguistics. In this context, she dedicated first to the study of bilingualism brain functioning and then, as part of her Master’s thesis research, she focused on the fundamental connections between the phonological memory and language development both in language impairments and neurotypical development. In her spare time, Fabiana loves practising Iyengar Yoga and hiking. She also a photographer who loves exploring through conceptual photography the relationship between the human mind, introspection and external perceptions. Deeply passionate about literature, she is a volunteer at the cultural Centre “Sweny’s Pharmacy” in Dublin where she helps organising reading events.
