We are recruiting a Research Assistant in Behavioral Pharmacology

Ulysses Neuroscience Ltd. is experiencing a new phase of growth and we are hiring a Research Assistant/Junior Scientist to join our expanding preclinical in vivo team. We are an Irish Contract Research Organization (CRO) aimed at advancing knowledge and treatment of neurological disorders by providing pre-clinical and clinical research services to pharmaceutical companies worldwide. The company is currently running several ground-breaking projects with different Pharmaceutical Companies in the fields of psychedelics and rare disease research. We seek talented, qualified, motivated employees that want to start a thriving career in the science industry.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with experimental models and that holds a BSc or MSc in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, psychology, or related fields. This role requires independent thinking and execution as well as interpersonal and communications skills, a proactive sense of ownership and initiative, and discretion in handling
confidential information.

Requirements

  • A desire to help patients achieve the research goals that they set out themselves through high quality science.
  • A primary degree in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences psychology, or related fields is strongly preferred
  • Strong organisation, time management, and planning skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation
  • Self-motivated, showing initiative and creative thinking, with a proactive, resourceful attitude to problem-solving and solution implementation
  • Experience in MS office
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through with a high level of accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Put patient research first by engaging with discussions with patient and family associations, perform outreach activities.
  • Assist with preclinical studies as required by our research collaborators
  • Assist with the analysis of research data
  • Communicate with management and other colleagues the results of experiments in a clear and concise manner
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams across different areas of the business
  • Contribute to study reports, manuscripts, and conference materials as required

Desirable Requirements

  • Animal handling experience
  • Behavioural analysis experience
  • LAST accreditation (LAST training will be provided to successful candidates that do not currently hold it)
  • Experience with brain dissection in small rodents
